Juniper (Juniperus spp.) has deeply aromatic blue berries traditionally used in herbalism, incense, cooking, and botanical craft. With their strong piney, resinous scent and warming flavor, juniper has long been valued in traditional plant practices throughout Europe and North America.
Our juniper berries are grown on our farm in eastern Washington and carefully harvested and dried to preserve their rich aroma and natural oils. The berries are commonly used in herbal teas, tinctures, incense blends, infused spirits, and spice mixes. Traditionally appreciated for their cleansing, grounding, and stimulating qualities, juniper remains a widely used traditional botanical.
Growing on hardy evergreen shrubs adapted to dry climates and rugged landscapes, juniper develops its distinctive aroma slowly over time in the sun and wind of the high desert environment. The result is a richly fragrant berry with deep earthy character and strong traditional herbal and culinary use.
The fragrant evergreen tips are included with the berries, adding fresh resinous aroma and making them especially well suited for incense, herbal blends, steam preparations, and botanical craft.
