Lomatium dissectum — commonly known as fernleaf biscuitroot or desert parsley — is a resinous and intensely aromatic root native to western North America. Growing slowly in dry mountain landscapes, lomatium develops deep, powerful taproots rich in aromatic resin compounds.
Our dried lomatium root is carefully harvested, washed, hand-cut, and thoroughly dried to preserve its aroma and resin content. The sliced root pieces are ideal for tinctures, decoctions, infused honey, oxymels, and other traditional herbal preparations.
The scent is unmistakable: rich, earthy, spicy, and resinous, with hints of pine and sun-warmed desert soil.
Growing wild in dry meadows, open forests, and mountain slopes, this hardy perennial has a long history of Indigenous use and remains highly valued among traditional herbalists and wildcrafters.
